Barna House & Demesne
Some 35 units received then record prices in the Galway residential market...
In 1998 Edward acquired an iconic 9 acre demesne centred around the Georgian Barna House on the fabled shores of Galway Bay. Initially envisioned as a luxury hotel it became clear during evaluation that the demesne leant itself more to high-end residential development. Accordingly the old Georgian house, ancestral seat of one of the Tribes of Galway was sympathetically restored, as was its stable block, and two adjacent contemporary wings were added. Some 35 units received then record prices in the Galway residential market when they were placed on the market; not just for their contemporary design but also as a result of the sylvan setting overlooking the bay.
